Name: Egypt

Location: Nothern Africa, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Libya and the Gaza Strip.

Climate: desert, hot, dry summers with moderate winters.

Population: 69 m

Famous for: ancient civilization, monument

History: founded by Merinda, predates the Badarian about 700 years ago.

Thing to see: Karnak Temple and Valley of the Kings.



Egypt, officially the Arab Republic of Egypt is a country in North Africa. It is located in Nothern Africa, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Libya and the Gaza Strip. This city does not receive much rainfall except in the winter months. It has a desert which is hot, dry summers with moderate winters. The city has a population of 69 million. Egypt is famous for its ancient civilization and some of the world's famous monument, including the Giza pyramid complex and its Great Sphinx. The earliest known Lower Egyption site, Merinda, predates the Badarian by about 700 years. There are many sights to see Egypt, like in the sourthern city of Luxor contains numerous ancient artifact, such as the Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings. Egypt is widely regarded as an important political and cultural nation of the Middle East.
